Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. For updates, additions, or questions, please contact us at [email protected] or (360) 660-5041.

South Whidbey at Home is a membership-based nonprofit dedicated to helping older (55+) South Whidbey residents remain in their homes and active in the community by providing access to a variety of  volunteer assistance, empowering educational opportunities, and social activities. We are committed to improving the well-being of our members through the power of community and flipping the narrative on aging from fiercely independent to fiercely interdependent!

We serve South Whidbey Island from Clinton through Greenbank.

History

Founded in 2016South Whidbey at Home was created on the village model. Neighbors Caring for Neighbors! Villages are consumer-driven, grassroots community-based organizations. Villages are formed through a cadre of caring neighbors who want to change the paradigm of aging. Through their efforts, local Villages become the foundation for connecting members to a full range of support assistance to help with non-medical household tasks, programs and transportation. Villages promote staying active by coordinating recreational, social, educational and cultural programs. These social activities minimize isolation and promotes interaction amongst their peers. Work on South Whidbey at Home started in March of 2015 and we opened on July 5, 2016.
