Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. At Positively Linked, our mission is to nurture, empower, and transform the lives of youth, families, and individuals through prevention, education, and compassionate support. We believe that every young person deserves to feel safe, valued, and connected, and every family deserves access to tools and resources that strengthen their relationships and resilience. Guided by our trauma-informed approach, we meet people where they are—offering not just services, but a circle of care and hope.

Our values are rooted in compassion, education, and empowerment. We work to improve the understanding of mental health and the mind-body connection, reduce the risk of bullying and violence, and create opportunities for empathy and connection to flourish. Central to our approach is fostering growth across the **8 Dimensions of Wellness—emotional, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, occupational, and financial—**so that individuals and families can thrive in all aspects of life.

We make an impact through a variety of programs and services designed to reach youth, parents, and the broader community. These include parenting classes, support groups, school-based programs, and engaging workshops and seasonal series that focus on mental health, emotional intelligence, and family wellness. By equipping families with tools for communication, self-awareness, and resilience, and by supporting youth with resources that prevent bullying and promote kindness, Positively Linked is helping to create lasting change across Whidbey Island and beyond.

About Positively Linked

Positively Linked was born from lived experience. Our founder, Constance Mollerstuen, grew up navigating childhood divorce and bullying — carrying unhealed pain into adulthood that showed up as abusive relationships, unhealthy coping, and chronic illness. In 1995, a life-changing car accident became her turning point. What began as physical recovery became a deep journey inward — toward healing, wholeness, and purpose.

During that season, Constance discovered the teachings of thought leaders like Louise Hay and Deepak Chopra, which ignited a lifelong pursuit of learning. She went on to earn extensive training and certifications in psychology, holistic health, trauma-informed care, social-emotional learning, and nonprofit leadership. She channeled that knowledge into writing Rooted & Ready Parenting and co-authoring three additional books, while building a career dedicated to equipping others with tools for resilience, self-worth, and genuine connection.

Out of that lived wisdom and professional expertise, Positively Linked was founded in 2014 — not just as an organization, but as a lifeline for Island County families. What began as an all-volunteer effort has grown into a professionally staffed agency offering youth mentoring, family wellness programming, parenting classes, support groups, school-based services, and trauma-informed workshops rooted in the 8 Dimensions of Wellness.

Today, Positively Linked holds MENTOR Washington Gold Star accreditation, serves as the formally designated successor to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Island County, and operates under contract with the Washington State Health Care Authority. Our mission remains what it always has been: to break cycles of trauma, promote healing and hope, and build a stronger, more connected community where individuals and families can truly thrive.
