LMSA's 2026 Standout Volunteer!
Langley Main Street Association is thrilled to share that Nina Milligan is LMSA's 2026 Standout Volunteer! Nina was recognized by LMSA and the WA Main Street Association at the PLACES conference in Ellensburg last week.
PLACES is the annual conference for Washington Main Street Associations and other organizations dedicated to strengthening our communities through economic vitality, historic preservation, and placemaking. A highlight of the conference is the "Excellence on Main" celebration, honoring outstanding Main Street volunteers, community projects, events, entrepreneurs and businesses.
Nina was nominated for this award by LMSA's board for the meaningful impact she has had over the past year through her leadership, dedication to historic preservation, and commitment to downtown economic vitality.
This spring, as part of LMSA's initiative to better leverage the resources available through the Department of Archeology ad Historic Preservation (DAHP), Nina coordinated a presentation focused on preserving historic properties. The event included state preservation experts and first-hand stories about local preservation projects. Langley business and building owners connected with valuable information about historic register designation and potential funding opportunities for renovations. By showcasing a recent addition to Langley's historic register, Nina helped demonstrate that historic preservation is both accessible and beneficial to our downtown.
Thank you, Nina, for being a standout LMSA volunteer! We are grateful to have you on the LMSA team!
