Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. For updates, additions, or questions, please contact us at [email protected] or (360) 660-5041.

The Hospice of the Northwest Foundation works with donors to fund programs, equipment needs, and financial support at Hospice of the Northwest. Donor funding helps to improve quality of life for Hospice of the Northwest patients. Donors help keep the focus on the patient and not just the bottom line.

The Hospice of the Northwest Foundation funds compassion and dignity every moment of life.

Our vision is to transform the way dying is perceived and experienced so that everyone coping with a life-limiting illness has access to hospice care; we envision a future where no one dies alone or in pain.

History

Founded in 2000Founded in 2000 with an initial contribution of more than $456,000 from the Visiting Nurse Foundation, the Hospice of the Northwest Foundation was established to ensure patients receive compassionate end-of-life support beyond what Medicare covers. Over the past 25 years, the Foundation has funded enhanced services such as therapeutic music, massage therapy, aromatherapy, therapy animal visits, and care for uninsured or underinsured patients, helping improve quality of life for individuals and families throughout the region. The Foundation successfully maintained support for hospice services during the COVID-19 pandemic, has grown community engagement through its Ports of Call Gala & Auction, and receives meaningful memorial gifts that honor loved ones while sustaining its mission.
