Island County Youth Court creates powerful learning opportunities where high school students lead real court proceedings and make meaningful differences in their peers' lives. Through monthly sessions at the courthouse, student volunteers from Oak Harbor, Coupeville, and South Whidbey gain hands-on legal experience while building stronger communities. Our student advocates, jurors, and court officers work alongside professional attorney mentors and judges, developing public speaking, critical thinking, and leadership skills invaluable for future careers. Participants earn volunteer hours while discovering potential pathways in law, public service, and community advocacy.
