Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. For updates, additions, or questions, please contact us at [email protected] or (360) 660-5041.

Good Cheer is an incredible food bank - a lot of the food they provide, especially the produce, is higher quality than what you can get at grocery stores, and it’s free! The food bank is supplied by its own gardens and donations from local gardeners/farmers, so the produce is always fresh, sometimes picked minutes before you’re taking it home to eat. You can often get sourdough bread that might cost $7 or $8 in the store, again, for free. There is no specific income threshold requirement, which is helpful as even if you work on the island it’s not always easy to afford everything - so we have probably saved $100+ a month in groceries by utilizing the food bank regularly. The only downside (as of Oct 25) is it’s only open 10-4 M-F and sometimes it is randomly closed for meetings without notification beforehand. The hours I know have been a barrier for some community members who work a set schedule during the day. All in all though they do a great job and whenever we go or walk by people working and volunteering seem happy to be there.
