Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. History

Founded in 2024

Queen-Bee Pantry began with a simple but powerful Idea: No one in our community should have to face hunger alone. In Early 2024, we started noticing how many people around us were struggling to access basic necessities. Rising costs of living, housing challenges, and limited local resources meant that many families, seniors, veterans, and individuals were quietly going without food. Some members of the community- especially those who felt marginalized or judged in traditional spaces, often didn't feel safe or comfortable asking for help. That realization sparked the beginning of Queen-Bee Pantry What started off as a small effort to support neighbors quickly grew into something much bigger. In March of 2024, the pantry officially began serving the community, and by May 2024 it became a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity in the Greenbank and greater Whidbey Island area. From the start, our mission has been about more than just food. We wanted to create a space built on dignity, compassion, and inclusion a place where people could come without fear of judgement and know they would be welcomed. Today Queen Bee Panty provides staple food and essential to families and individuals in need helping ensure that hundreds of neighbors have access to nutritious meals. Like a hive working together, the journey has been powered by the community itself, volunteers, donors, and local partners who believe that when we support one another, everyone thrives. What began ass grassroots effort is continuing to grow, including the expansion into a storefront location that will allow us to serve even more families with stability and care. Today Queen-Bee Pantry stands as a reminder that small acts of kindness can grow into something truly impactful. Our journey is still unfolding, but the heart of it remains the same: Neighbors helping neighbors one meal at a time.
