Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. Board Member for Aldermarsh Retreat

Target Start Date: asap

Retreat Center recruiting board members

Aldermarsh, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on Whidbey Island, offers a serene 5-acre retreat nestled in Maxwelton Valley's marshland. We blend human-made structures with nature to foster community, collaboration, and sustainability. Our mission: to provide a sacred space for residential retreats and programs focused on consciousness, equitable community living, and harmony with nature.

We are growing quickly and seeking volunteer board members with a soul calling to help us keep Aldermarsh sustainable and able to serve the community for many years to come.

Specific skills needed:

·       Social media savvy and experience

·       Financial experience - planning and budget development

·       Management of human resources, knowledge of labor laws (or the ability to self-educate) and positive/constructive communication skills in working directly with employees

·       Fundraising experience and expertise including grant writing

·       Experience with 501(c)(3) organizations

Aldermarsh is a very small organization and board members have the opportunity to participate in the hands-on management of operations. No specific time requirement is needed, but board members should be able to take on specific tasks as needed and to virtually attend quarterly board meetings.
