Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. Whidbey Island Community Advocates for Refugee Efforts

Whidbey Island CAREs is a nonprofit organization started in 2022. Our goal is to bring a Ukrainian Refugee Family to the PNW. It costs an estimated $2,500-3,000 per refugee — at least $10,000 for a family of four, and even more for a larger family. Our goal is to fund this family and help them as they integrate and settle into our community. Once the family arrives, CAREs members will help integrate them into Whidbey Island. The group will help them obtain food, clothing, housing, transportation, and employment; connect them with any legal and medical services they might require; and get kids enrolled in school. The goal is to give the family the help they need to become independent in their new life.
