Assistant Bookkeeper wanted (position filled)

Whidbey Island Arts Council (WIAC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is seeking an assistant bookkeeper. This is a contract position for 8-10 hours per week. The scope of work includes managing weekly financial transactions to include accurate recording and classification of all transactions, monthly reconciliation, generating monthly and year-end reports, maintaining proper electronic and paper financial record keeping, and reviewing records for any discrepancies.

Requirements:
Assistant bookkeeping experience. An associate degree in accounting is a plus. Familiarity with excel required. Nonprofit experience preferred but not required. Essential skills: Precise documentation tracking, eye for details, ability to meet deadlines, clear and timely communication, and ability to handle multiple tasks and requests.
