While centered in Oak Harbor, Washington, we have outreach and participate in projects and activities throughout the northern Puget Sound region.
Our nonprofit organization was established when a few local citizens became concerned about the plight of the Garry Oak, Washington's only native oak tree and the tree for which Oak Harbor was named. The Garry Oak in Washington has suffered a loss of over ninety-eight percent in the past two hundred years. Our current goal is to preserve as many of the old trees as possible, to educate people about the history and importance of this tree and to plan new seedlings throughout the region.
