Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. Oak Harbor

History

Founded in 1923We are 100+ years strong! What started out in 1923 as a civic improvement club transformed itself into today’s garden club. Our mission is to develop a beautiful city through loving care of small spaces. This mission is accomplished through monthly work parties on the last Wednesday of each month that beautify various city parks, the blue planters along historic Pioneer Way and special projects in conjunction with the Oak Harbor parks department and non-profit organizations in Oak Harbor. Our annual Tea and Tour, which takes place each summer, showcases some of the most beautiful properties in Oak Harbor. In spring the club holds a plant sale to encourage individuals to beautify their own spaces. Our annual scholarship also seeks to encourage students to pursue their dreams in related fields. The Garden Club meets monthly September to June, and provides a time to talk to other gardeners, get tips on horticulture and design, and enjoy a program with a guest speaker on topics of interest.
