Welcome to Whidbey’s Nonprofit Directory

This directory is a free community resource created by the Whidbey Community Foundation to connect residents and donors with the many organizations serving our island. Inclusion does not imply endorsement or funding, and not all organizations listed are WCF grantees. We strive to keep information current and accurate. Oak Harbor Educational Foundation

Oak Harbor Educational Foundation

The mission of the Oak Harbor Educational Foundation (OHEF) is to empower Oak Harbor School District’s students and educators. We create opportunities for students to thrive, receive scholarships for post-secondary education, and enable teachers and schools to provide supportive and innovative learning experiences.

OHEF was founded in 1992 by a group of caring community members who believed that every student in Oak Harbor deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a powerful force for educational excellence—connecting community generosity with student success. As a private, nonprofit organization, OHEF is dedicated to enriching the educational experience in Oak Harbor Public Schools. Our citizen-led Board of Directors carefully stewards every contribution to ensure that each dollar directly supports our mission: investing in the dreams and futures of local students. Each year, OHEF proudly awards more than $70,000 in college scholarships and over $15,000 in classroom grants to empower both students and teachers. These investments spark innovation, open doors to higher education, and create lifelong opportunities.
